Product Overview
The Heywood Smith Sponge Forceps feature looped, fenestrated jaws with horizontal serrations to provide a non-slip, atraumatic grip on cotton swabs, gauze, and dressings. Used frequently in hemorrhoidal surgery, these forceps are also appropriate for gynecologic use, such as polyp or ovum extraction. The ratchet action permits the locking of the jaws in position, maintaining consistent clamping force allowing hands-free operation once locked in place, leaving the hands of the surgical team free. Made from high-quality surgical-grade stainless steel, the instrument is long-lasting, corrosion-resistant, and suited for repeated sterilization. The ring handle provides ergonomic control for prolonged periods.
